How to remove dried butterfinger from a canvas bag?

I left a open butter finger in my bag which is made of canvas and I never cleaned it-now it's has pieces of chocolate onstuck the the material-how do I remove it without leaving stains or smudging?

1. Throw it in the washing machine, it's canvas so it's made to be laundered.
2. You can try getting the residue cold and then scraping off as much as possible. Take a bar of Fels Naptha soap and wet an old toothbrush. Lather up the toothbrush with the Fels Naptha and scrub the chocolate stain until you are satisfied. Rinse with cold water until all the residue is gone. Run the bag through a cold wash and hang to dry.
