Is organic canvas a good material for tote bags?

I'm thinking of getting a bag which is quite cheap and really cool. But its made of 100 percent organic canvas. I dont know how this material feels like. Is it good for bags?

1. They rip really easily, and they are really thin!!
2. yeah they're great! just make sure it's good quality, so they don't rip.
