Paper Bags?

When you go shopping and you see people with the paper/cardboard bags from the shops, how do they get them do you have to ask for them insted of the plastic ones, if so what do you ask for or do you have to spend so much money before they give you one, (I know you can't buy a tiny thing and they will give you a large bag).

1. WHEN SHOPPING AND YOU HAVE A QUESTION??THE BEST THING TO DO??ASK SOMEONE..SIMPLE AS THAT..
2. The only other bag you can get from a shop .e.g Sainsburys is a bag for life! The cost like 50p (i think)
3. some stores still have paper, just ask for paper instead of plastic, and you can also buy paper bags from wal-mart

It's just a case of what the shop assistant decides to give you and what type of bag is most appropriate to the type of item you've purchased sometimes you only get the plastic bag because they have run out of the better bagss or perhaps they could just be judging you by your appearence and they'll only give good bags to pretty girls and plastic bags to the not so pretty ones
6. the best thig to do is ask at the counter and see what they say there are some shops that give you paper bags if the things that u buy are deerer or designer e.g parkgate also there are some shops that only have paper bags now hope this information is helpful
7. i work in such shop......just ask for the paper version...tell them you like to reuse them and think its healthier for the environment. Only a real scrooge would say no. But the paper bags are more expensive for the store, thats why you dont get them automaticaly with every purchase, they can cost over a pound each for the store to purchase.
