Cotton Bags

How to knit a drawstring...............?

I'm knitting a drawstring bag, only I don't know how to knit a drawstring for it; and I'd like the drawstring to have little tassles or something decorative on the end. Suggestions? Thanks! =)

  1. You can knit a little cord (i-cord) for the drawstring. Just cast on the as many stitches as you want, using double sided needles depending on how thick you want the cord to be. (I usually do about 3-5) Knit all the way across. Now push the stitches to the other end of the needle, without turning your work like you normally would, and knit across again, so you are basically knitting backwards and starting from the last stitch instead of the first. Keep alternating until you have the desired length. I love these little i cords, they're so easy to make. ^_^ I use them for everything, I knit them for fun, lol Here's a link to a video, just scroll down to the i cord section and click on view video: http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/knitting-tips For tassles, use a crochet hook to embed pieces of yarn in the drawstring securely.
