- Yes Canvas bags are good for carrying laptops in and lovely bag , i think you should get that one I know i hate the laptop bags :( i don't really carry mine about but i have a bag for it my bag is the same type but mine is different colour etc hope i helped
- The bag should have padding to protect the computer, a shoulder strap for the weight and pockets to hold cords, disks, charger, etc. Canvas, in and of itself is fine.
- I'm with "Mike" on this one. Most canvas totes don't have the protection needed to save the delicate laptop from even the casual shocks of bumping into people, walls, floors, chairs and desks. A cheap messenger bag or nylon briefcase is a bit better because you can ADD the padding provided by folders, papers, books, etc. Plus, you can carry other stuff you might need such as notebooks, pens, CDs and DVDs, even water and snacks. But a dedicated laptop bag is best because the required padding is built in where it's needed on the bottom, sides and corners. Plus, it will also have the orginizational features for carrying related supplies. And, if you shop around, you can find them in various colors. You can even find iron-on appliques at craft stores and fabric shops to decorate them as you see fit. (also make it harder to steal when someone can easily recognize it as yours.) If you insist on getting that Barnes and Noble bag, then go to a fabric store and pick up some soft foam sheets to put in the sides. If you are going to spend a few hundred bucks on a laptop, don't go cheap on it's protection.
