How do i make drawstring bags close more securely? I like making chrochet bags but i need some trouble-shooting help. I like the drawstring to double as a handle, and it looks like i should be able to make them close more tightly securely but i'm not sure how. More islets? Less islets? bigger or smaller loops around islets? I preffer to just use the weight of the bag (having drawstring double as shoulder strap) rather than a tie, because ties can be hard to get bus ticket and purse out without juggling.

How to make a Draw String bag without a sewing machine? I want to make some drawstring bags for my daughters party so that the kids can put their "gold" in them. I will have the kids sifting through sand looking for gold rocks. I don't own a sewing machine but was wondering if I could do this using fabric glue? I could punch out two holes at the top of the bag and feed a ribbon through. Do you think this would work? I've never worked with fabric glue either. I'm not too crafty, but thought this would be cute and inexpensive.

Its a massive big bag so putting it inside something else isnt really an option, and i dont want to cut holes in it as it will make it weaker and more likely to tear.
